DELORIS PEARL SIMS age 78, “LOIS” as she was affectionately called, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Deloris, the eighth of fourteen children, was born in Port St Joe, FL on August 8, 1947, to the late Mr. Daniel & Mrs. Annie Lee Sims Sr. She joined the Thompson Temple First Born Holiness Church of Port St Joe, FL at an early age until she moved away. She was a graduate of Washington High School…. Class of 1966. She was a loving, kind, and gentle person who now rejoices in the promises of God’s love, joy, and peace. In His mercy turned the darkness of death into the dawn of a new life, and the sorrow of parting into the joy of Heaven; through our Savior Jesus Christ, who died, rose again, and lives forevermore. Amen.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Margaret Sims, Thelma Sims, Mary Sims & Pauline Batten; Six brothers: Augusta Sims, James Sims, Harry Sims, Richard Sims, Daniel Sims Jr., & Thomas Sims Sr.
A legacy of unforgettable memories will be cherished by her sisters: Willie Bell (Nancy) Sims of Port St Joe, FL, Annie Murl Sims of Panama City, FL, Cynthia Sims (Frankie Williams) of Decatur, GA; aunt: Catherine Brantly of Plains, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Fl with Dr. Johnny Jenkins, Minister Linda Gant, Minister Adrinna Hill, and Pastor Marvin Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery with the caring staff of Peoples Funeral Home officiating.
