Obituary For Sister Lucy Pittman

LUCY PITTMAN entered into this world on February 23, 1948, in Marianna, Florida, born to the late Lucressie (Stephens) and Willie “Nan” Pittman, Sr. At an early age, Lucy welcomed Jesus into her life as her personal Lord and Savior.

She joined Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, Florida where she served faithfully as a member of the Choir and the Usher board for many wonderful years, until she relocated to College Station, Texas in 1997.

Educated in the Jackson County public school system, she successfully operated the family business, Pitt Stop Detail and Car Sales, for 30 years. Alongside her entrepreneurship, she dedicated her time to providing trusted childcare services for families within the local community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Pittman Jones, and three brothers, Walter, James “Brother”, and Willie Pittman, Jr.

On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the Lord called her name, and she gently answered, escorted by angels to her eternal resting place.

Precious memories of Lucy will forever linger with a caring and devoted family that includes two devoted and trusted sons, Darryl (Yerlonda) Pittman and Anthony (Frances) Pittman of College Station, TX; special son, Timothy (Porsha) Garrett of Marianna, FL; grandchildren, Whitney (Larrick) Curry, Deanthony Pittman, Torlan (Rachael) Pittman, and Dwight (Jesslyn) Palmer, Sr.; great grands, Alexis Banks, Larrick Curry III, Ace Pittman, Dwight Jr., Isaiah, and Jullian Palmer; two sisters, Jennie (L.E.) Hartsfield of Greenwood, FL and Earline (Charles) Paramore of Marianna, FL; loving nieces and nephews who will remember her loving ways, Vivian Howard, Marthelma Love, Cherolyn Pittman, Kelvin (Tanesia) Horne, Sr., Farrah Webb, Lutina (Lonnie) Milton, Detres Hartsfield, Bruce (Aldina) Jackson, Gail Pittman, Charles (Suzanne) Paramore, Steve and Ronnie (Lindra) Paramore; along with a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
