Billy Frank Buckner, 84, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board. He was an avid UK sports fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and was a celebrated bartender. He retired from Fort Knox Credit Union.
He was the son of the late Mose Cecil, Sr. and Christine Buckner. He was preceded in death by a grandson Todd "T.J." Allen, Jr. and a brother, Reggie Cecil.
Billy Frank leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 64 years, Hattie Duncan Buckner; two daughters, Daraline (Dave) Cox and Katie Buckner; a son Michael Buckner; three grandchildren, Kristina (Aaron) Covington-Jones, Antoine (Carolyn) Covington and TaVion Buckner; five great grandchildren, Khania Jones, Erin-Khiyan Jones, K'Lyn Jones, Alandre “Pnut” Murphy, Jr., Tanisia Murphy ; three brothers, Mose (Linda) Cecil, Jr., Gary (Rosie) Cecil, and Bernard Cecil; a sister, Anita Bradley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
The funeral will be held at 12 noon Saturday, January 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown with Rev. Rochelle Moore-Harden officiating. Burial to follow in the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Percell & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dear Buckners, Peace be with you. I first met Billy when he worked with my Dad back in the 1960s. Then, I got to work with him for several decades. He was a winner.
