Obituary For Ernest Lee Jones
Ernest Lee (Ernie) Jones,Sr., 76, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board and Usher Board. He loved U of L Basketball .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Henry and Anna Mae Jones; a brother, David Jefferies; a sister, Shirley Schaffer.
He is survived by a son, Ernest L. Jones, Jr; of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister Elizabeth Nixon; the niece who cared for him, Rosemary (Eric) Robertson; an aunt Dorothy Buckner; a special cousin, Brenda McGill; His special friend of many years, Wanda Abrams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Percell and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Rochelle Moore- Harden officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
Visitation after 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at the funeral home.
