Marvin Elton King, Sr., 85 of Elizabethtown passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin.
Mr. King was a member of Emby Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he served as a Steward, Steward Pro-tem, Sunday School Teacher, and Superintendent. He loved the Gospel Keynotes and served on the Board of Directors for the KY Food Bank. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 1998. His hobbies included basketball, bowling, and serving as a softball umpire.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents James & Beulah βParksβ King; two daughters, Theresa and Valarie King; a brother Yulie Barnes; a grandson Jonathon Hatten.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Jo Anna King; four sons Marvin King, Jr, Jimmy (Tina) Williams, Timmy (Veronica) Williams, Shawn (Alexandra) Williams; eight daughters, Margaret Price, Geraldine King, Natasha (Gerald) King, Regina King, Makeba King, Renee Hatten, and Mary (Larry) Suitt and Kenyetta Livingston; three brothers, Mark (Denise) King, Jerome King, John King; four sisters Vickie Malone, Carol King, Lisa (William) Cameron, Sherry Tabor, and Tashia Horn; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will he held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Embry Chapel A.M.E. Church with Dr. Veda Stewart officiating.
Visitation after 12:00 Noon at the church.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Marvin. He helped me when i first began dialysis. He was a wonderful friend and great source of encouragement. He will be missed. So sorry to hear of your loss. Marvin and I attended Etown High School together. My favorite memories are of him winning the talent competitions with his singing. Now he can sing in the heavenly choir. Rest in peace Marvin.
