Mother Shirley Ann Bruton, 77 of Fulton, KY, died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Mose and Dora Brackins; she was also preceded in death by six brothers, Jim Brackins, Charlie Mack, Billie Joe Brackins, Raymond Brackins, Perry Lee Brackins and Gennie Brackins; two sisters, Nancy Ruth and Mary Ann.
Mother Bruton earned an Associate Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kentucky. She retired from the Department of Finance at Fort Knox.
Mother Bruton served the church in many capacities; First Lady and Church Mother of Faith Temple COGIC; a Sunday School teacher; an Evangelist Missionary; and President of the Sewing Circle/Artistic Fingers Auxiliary for the Jurisdictional Department of Women. Many are receipts of her beautiful handiworks. Mother Bruton loved sewing, crafts and making flower arrangements. She had a green thumb and a great gift for reviving damaged plants.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Rev. Edmond Bruton; a brother Sam Brackins; and the entire COGIC family.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 at Hope Temple Church of God In Christ in Radcliff with Bishop John W. Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in the KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation after 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mr. B. I just heard yesterday that the Mrs. passed away. I am so sorry to hear this, it just breaks my heart that I didnt know sooner. You are in my prayers and I love you both with all my heart. She is without pain now, but I know it is still hard for you to be without her. I love you!
