Obituary For Alfred Siler

Alfred Siler “Al” was born on February 18, 1952. to the late Fred and Mary Siler. He grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and was a kind and gentle soul. He departed this life suddenly on January 6, 2022.

Alfred attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Dudley High School. Upon completing his secondary education, he joined the United States Military. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army, he returned to Greensboro where he attended North Carolina A&T State University.

Alfred had a strong work ethic and was employed by Wesley Long hospital for more than thirty-five years. At the time of his retirement, he was an EKG technician. His colleagues speak highly of his dedication and commitment.

He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed college and professional football and basketball. Alfred often attended sports events with friends and family. Although he liked following sports on television, he was also a participant in other sports. He found nothing more exhilarating than to challenge a friend to a game of chess or golf.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Nicole Clark (James) and son, Chadwick Moore (Trina); three grandchildren, Talon, Ariana, and Evan. He was a doting grandfather and the children were the apples of his eye. Al is also survived by three aunts, Rosa, Joyce (Lloyd), Maxine, and a great aunt, Hattie. In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory, sister/cousins with whom he grew up, Evelyn Harris, Viteria Harris-Jackson, and Ruby Rumley (Richard); numerous other cousins and a dear friend, Arlene High. He will truly be missed by family and friends.

A service honoring his life will be at 12:00 pm on January 26, 2022 in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am. Internment will be on February 3, 2022 at 11 am at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury NC 28144.
