Ms. Annis Sensabaugh, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Blumenthal Nursing Home.
Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at St. James Presbyterian Church.
Burial Guilford Memorial Park.
Ms. Annis Lucille Sensabaugh was born on January 4, 1921 in Rogersville, Tennessee and departed this life on January 9, 2023. The daughter of Mack and Frances Sensabaugh, Annis had one sister, Jacquetta Sensabaugh Armstrong. She attended the public schools of Rogersville. Her education continued at Swift Memorial Junior College and Akron, Ohio School of Nursing.
Annis spent over forty years as a nurse. She worked at the Cleveland, Ohio hospital and L. Richardson Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. After retiring from L. Richardson, she became a nanny for several children.
Upon moving to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1970, she joined St. James Presbyterian Church. Annis was an active member of the Lucy Laney Circle until her health declined.
She leaves to mourn a foster daughter: Johnette Hardy; foster grandchildren: Kevin, Tina, Danielle Evan and Newbill; a host of friends including Henry and Ruth Goldston, Attorney Carolita Jones Cope, Ray and Patricia Jenkins, Sandra Williams, Attorney Barry and Johneka Williams, Mary Payne, Leonard Bates, Dr. Delores A. Parker and members of St. James Presbyterian Church.
