Condolences & Tributes

Add A Condolence

Mr. Robinson was my 3rd-grade teacher in Netzaberg. I was looking in my yearbooks today and decided to look up my favorite teacher at that time. Remembering celebrating his 60th birthday in third grade, I was hoping he was still alive and healthy but was crushed by this news. Although he passed 3 years ago and I didn't find out until today, I am holding back tears as I pray for him and his family. I know that he will be one of the first teachers who will come through my head when I walk down the graduation aisle in 2026. Thank you Mr. Robinson for being a great influence during my childhood. You will be remembered for sure.

Our family is so sad to hear about Mr. Robinson's passing. He was Maddy's favorite teacher in 1st and 3rd grade. Our prayers for you comfort are on-going. He will be missed. ~Carol Higgins & Family

Monica and family. I was both saddened and shocked at learning of Tony's passing. He was our cousin through marriage ( his Mom married my maternal uncle). We so looked forward to getting together after you guys returned to U.S. and he made contact in June when you arrived . I have fun and fond memories from our childhood. I extend condolences to you and your children. Sincerely, Deborah Scott Holston

Dear Monica, Adam, Savannah and Adria - I am so saddened that Tony had to leave all of us way too soon - he was a light and so full of life. We worked together at Lanham and I remember him lining his 1st graders up in the hall and instead of letting them squirm - he quizzed them on all sorts of important trivia - he made it a game and it was so inspiring. As you know, Tony was a great guy and memories of him abound - I hope they bring you some small bit of comfort at the challenging time. Sincerely, Debbie Behnke

Monica, Savannah, Adam, and Adria, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Tokyo Tony. He was my sponsor when I first came to Japan 20 years ago. He helped me in my first grade classroom when I didn't know what to do. He used to talk about his "chicken scratch" when he wrote things on the whiteboard for the students. We became friends and used to go to breakfast every Friday morning with Jackie Whited. When my sister came, he helped me show her around when I was too scared to go anywhere. One year, we had 20+ new teachers come into Shirly Lanham. I was late coming back to Japan and he mostly took care of everyone for me. He was so giving and kind. I lost contact with him when he transferred to Okinawa but reconnected on Facebook. We didn't talk much after that but I know he was and always will be a great man. You are all in my thoughts during this difficult time. Dina Kobayashi (Jaramillo)

Monica and family , I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Tony. He was one of the finest and most dedicated teachers that I ever had the honor of working with at Netzaberg. Know that many, many people will be praying for all of you and holding you in our hearts in the days to come . His legacy will live on in his own children as well as the hundreds of children who were fortunate to have been touched by his love for teaching and caring and compassion . He will be greatly missed by more people that you can even imagine . Hugs and prayers to all of you. Courtney Daniels

Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
