Bertha Mae Wade Moore, 81, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed peacefully on December 10, 2025. Born on April 12, 1944, she lived a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham Lincoln Wade and Bessie Mae Shaw Wade; her beloved husband, Charles Westley Moore; her son, Charles Westley Moore Jr.; her brothers Roy Lee Wade, Thomas Wade, Vance Wade, Billy Wade, and Glenn Wade; and her sister, Nancy Jackson.
She was a devoted and loving mother to Bobby Moore (Caroline), Richard Moore (Angela), Pamela Moore Scott (Emmanual), and Betty Moore. Bertha’s heart extended far beyond her immediate family, blessing her with deep connections throughout her life. She is also survived by her siblings Wayne Wade of Atlanta, GA; Brenda Gwynn (Larry) of Elon, NC; Lena Ogburn (James) of Fayetteville, NC; Jennie Carter (Bernard), Mary Scott (William), and Loretta Wade, Dorothy Wade all of Greensboro, NC. Her legacy continues through her 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Throughout her life, Bertha worked diligently and poured her spirit into everything she touched. She was known for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Whether she was offering a helping hand, sharing a warm meal, or simply listening with an open heart, Bertha created a sense of home wherever she went. She will be remembered for her resilience, her gracious soul, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
A viewing service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home, 909 E. Market Street, Greensboro, NC
Bertha’s presence was a blessing, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled — but her love, her lessons, and her light will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
