Beverly Marjorie Mims Brown, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend,
peacefully transitioned from her earthly life on Tuesday June 3rd 2025 at her home. She was born on March 30, 1950 in Edgefield, SC where she was the second eldest child of the late Inez Beatrice Lloyd Mims Ross and the late Eddie Ree Mims.
Beverly's first love and marriage was to Troy E. Jones Jr., and from their union, her eldest son, Troy Stuart Jones, was born. After their marriage ended, Beverly fell in love again and married Raymond Wise, with whom she had her second son, Ryan Patrick Wise. Years later, following the end of that relationship; Beverly married Frank Brown in June of 1995. This union did not result in any children.
From the days of walking barefoot down quiet country roads, to navigating the bustling streets of New York City, Beverly embraced change with grace and determination. She enjoyed an exciting and successful career in the Legal Administrative field, beginning in New York, NY., which she continued to pursue in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, then Jacksonville, FL, and Seattle, WA, where that chapter of her career concluded.
Beverly eventually chose to relocate back to the East Coast; specifically, to Greensboro, NC,
then to Jacksonville, FL for a while, and afterwards, back to Greensboro, permanently. Her desire was to move closer to her sister Elaine, and other family members.
She is lovingly remembered by her two devoted sons, Troy Stuart Jones and Ryan Patrick Wise, whom she cherished deeply. Her sons brought immense joy to her life by blessing her with five beloved grandchildren: Troy S. Jones II, Nia Glenn, Maya Nance, Christian Wise, and Isaiah Wise. She is also survived by five siblings who deeply mourn her passing: Linda (Peter) Roberts, Donald (Lottie) Mims, Johnny (Wendy) Mims, Mary Mims-Smith, and Evonette Gray. In addition, she is remembered with love by her God-daughter, Sherrice Harrigan Alston, as well as other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of cherished family and friends. Her eldest sister,
Elaine Mims Harrigan, preceded her in death in January of this year.
Memorial Service honoring her life will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, 5:00 pm at Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel 909 East Market Street at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home Greensboro, North Carolina.

Tiah Thompson sent Sacred Garden Spray for Beverly Brown - June 16, 2025
To my dear family, I am so sorry for the lost of our cousin Beverly, she was such a sweet person, with that beautiful smile. I send my condolences. Sleep In Paradise Dear Cousin.
Beverly has always been special to me because of my sister who's name was Beverly Brown also. And my sister (Beverly) had so much in common. Especially their ailments which they talked about often. But most of all the love of family. They both are together with so very many of our wonderful loved ones. That alone gives me such peace and comfort. We will all be gathered together one day. Love you all so very much. Love Eydie (Brown)Route'
I'm praying for you all and trusting that God will bring you comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding. Lean on Him, and know that His love surrounds you.
My sincere condolences to the family. May God bless you all.

Beverly was my "friend"! We met in NYC over 40 years ago and maintained a friendship since then. Although we didn't talk on a regular basis, when we did we always picked up where we left off. Rest my friend, I look forward to "catching up" with you on the other side!!
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
