Byron transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on March 15th at the age of 65. Byron was born on May 11, 1957 in Greensboro, North Carolina where he lived with family until becoming a resident of Coltrane Group Home in 2001. Byron was blessed with a beautiful spirit. He loved his family immensely, and our love was reciprocated ten-fold. Byron was especially skilled in crafting beaded bracelets and necklaces, as well as mastering the technique of opening locks. Watching TV and collecting a wide variety of DVDs were his favorite pass times. He loved to work, and participated in various workshop environments within the Greensboro area.
Byron is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Wallington Donnell, and father, William Cecil Donnell. He leaves to hold and cherish his loving memory, sisters Myrna of Decatur, GA, Wanda of Bowie, MD, Regina of Chicago, Ill, and Teresa (Kurt) of Williamsburg, VA, and brothers Horace (Betty) Baker of Greensboro, NC, Anthony of Winston-Salem, NC, Stanley of Greensboro, NC and Danny (Shawn) of Newark, CA, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be held at Carolina Biblical Gardens of Guilford on Tuesday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Charles E. Coote of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.
Byron was loved by all who came to know him. We will forever hold him in our hearts, and will always reflect upon the wonderful and fun times we shared with him. We thank God for blessing us with our very special brother and friend.
John 14:1-4 1. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
