Tony, Van and Grand Children my deepest condolences to each of you. I have the fondest memories of Chris. She was gentle, loving and kind. After spending much time with her at the Sabastian Museum, I became friends with her. She shared so much wisdom and knowledge. I loved the way she invited me into her home making me feel right at ease. Your father was equally as hospital as she was. They became my new family. I am going to miss calling Chris and visiting with my friend

My condolences to the Thompson family. I am a member of the James B. Dudley High School Class of 1971. Mrs. Thompson was not one of my teachers, but I definitely remember how popular, well-respected, dynamic, and beloved she was by her students. There was always something exciting and inspiring happening in her class that made me wish I were privileged to have been taught by her. I am grateful that I had an opportunity to talk with her briefly at our 45th Reunion Banquet in 2016. She was lovely and so gracious. We were all blessed to have great teachers at Dudley High. Even those who didn't teach us directly inspired and encouraged us all! Mrs. Thompson was one such teacher.

Mrs. Thompson, it was my teacher at Dudley high school. She was always supportive, professional, and encouraging. She required a great deal from us, but she also gave a great deal to us. She let us know that we were the future, and there was an expectation for us to carry ourselves in a way that would promote respect, and success in our lives. I pray that those left here, to mourn her, will be held close to God's heart, as they say goodbye to her and face their new normalππ½ππ½ππ½ Lisa Oglesby '71
I had a lot of great teachers at Dudley High School but Mrs. Thompson was my favorite. She always told us to smile to prevent wrinkles. She took our class to Raleigh, NC, Washington DC and New York City. No other teachers ever did that. I met my wife in her class. We were on opposing debate teams. 53 years later, we are still debating ... but still together. We loved her as a teacher but more importantly, as a person. We will miss her so much. We send our condolences to the family. Thank you for sharing her with us.
