Obituary For Donald Priest

Mr. Donald Lee Priest, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 at his residence.

Donald L. Priest “Donnie” of Greensboro, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, October 7, 2024. Born on June 24, 1951, in Moore County, NC, Donald was the son of the late William “Buddy” and Jessie Belle Nance Priest. He was predeceased by his siblings: Dorothy (Isaac) Davis, William (Scarlett) Priest, and Velma Jane Priest Wesley.

Donald was a resident of Greensboro for many years and dedicated over 40 years of his career as a Professional Truck Driver. His commitment to his work was evident, but not more than the importance of his family.

Known for his warm personality, Donald was always willing to help others in whatever way he was able. He enjoyed driving over the “big road,” watching western movies, and watching sports on television during his downtime.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Arlynthia “Lynn” Priest, with whom they lovingly shared more than a lifetime of memories. He was a devoted father to his children: Janett (Daren) Simmons, Sharon (Daniel) Battle, Keith (Kenitra) Priest, and Donnie (Leatrice) Priest. Donald’s legacy will continue on through his seven grandchildren: Ashley, Kendrick, Daren Jr., Uriah, Keith Jr., Trajan, and Kaius. He is also survived by a brother: Gilbert (Barbara) Priest and a host of family and friends.

Donald L. Priest will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and hard work will continue to flourish in all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home Chapel located at 909 East Market Street in Greensboro, North Carolina.
