Obituary For Dorothy Harrison

Mrs. Dorothy Harrison passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

A service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2 pm in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm.

Dorothy Jean Harrison was born January 1, 1931 to Hattie Mae Harrison. The granddaughter of Peggy “Pay” Leach Harrison, she lived in Asheville, NC the majority of her life, and transitioned this world on March 29, 2022 in Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her son: Labeebe Mustafaa; granddaughter: Kameelah Robinson; and son-in-law: Henry Robinson.

She was affectionately known as “Grandmama, Grandma Dot-Dot, Miss Dorothy, Sister Harrison, Gran-Gran, Sixteen and Dorothy Jean” by family, friends, and loved ones. A faithful and lifelong servant of the Lord, she was a committed member of the Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church. Miss Dorothy served on the Deaconess Board, Usher Board, Missionary Circle, Secretary of the Sunday School, and Usher Board Union of Asheville.

She is survived by her daughter: Sandra; grandchildren: Reggie, Tony, Jamal (Sandra), Shawn (Shirley Shivers), Taheed, Nafeesah, Zakiyyah (Brenda); great-grands: Aasiyah (Kameelah), Brent, Minnie, Malaika, Lisa, Zavian, Deshawn (Reggie), Marcez, Deja (Shawn), Zamon (Nafeesah), Jasmine, Jada, Henry, Amora (Jamal); and 14 great-great-grands.

Grandmama was faithful, humble, kind, meek, patient, reliable and steadfast. She lived her religion and was true to her GOD.
