On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Dorothy Moore McLaughlin left her earthly abode and received the gift of eternal life from her Heavenly Father.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. James Baptist Church located at 536 Florida Street in Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am and service will follow at 11:00 pm.
Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park located at 6000 W. Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Otis and Lucille Siler. She attended Goshen School and J.C. Price School and did domestic work for over 40 years. Later in life, she received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license from Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC).
She joined St. James Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC at an early age. She was active in Sunday School, sang in the WIll Green Gospel Choir, was a member of the Founders Day Committee, and was a missionary.
In 1934, she married John W. Moore. Seven children were born to this marriage. She is preceded in death by John W. Moore, her oldest son John H. Moore, her daughter Rosetta Moore, a stillborn son, and her husband later in life Edward B. McLaughlin.
To cherish her memory she is survived by her children: Robert (Judy) Moore of Greensboro, NC, Ray (Debra) Moore of Winston-Salem, NC, Luretta Galloway of Greensboro, NC, and Steve (Sheila) Moore of Colorado Springs, CO, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
