Obituary For Fredric Lamont Lloyd

Fredric “Lamont” Lloyd passed away peacefully and quietly on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at
Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, surrounded by his family and
friends.

Lamont was born on September 13, 1976 to the late Fred A. Lloyd III and Jean Flippen Lloyd in Danville,
Virginia. Lamont received his early education in the Danville Public School System. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1994 where he participated in many activities. His advanced education started at Hampton University, Danville Community College and finally at ECPI college where he received his Associates Degree in Computer and
Information Services. He was always ready to assist his family and friends to troubleshoot any computer or technology issues.

Lamont shared his love, kindness and love of the Holy Spirit with family and friends. At an early age he accepted Christ. He joined and was an active and faithful member of White Rock Baptist Church, in which Reverend Doctor Walter M. Tinsley was the pastor. After moving to Greensboro, North Carolina, he united with the Destiny Christian Center Church, where the pastor is Pastor Lee Stokes. Lamont served on numerous church D-Teams, such as the Media,
Greeter and Usher teams and when asked was always willing to serve.

Lamont met the love of his life Jocelyn Yavette Lloyd and they united in holy matrimony on July
18, 2019. Only married 5 years, they were the epitome of “agape love”. Lamont adored
Jocelyn and everyday was a new adventure for the two young lovebirds.

Lamont enjoyed engaging in numerous civic and social activities. He was a proud and active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc, initiated in 2023 into the Gamma Beta Sigma chapter in Greensboro, NC. He enjoyed fantasy football, bowling, playing cards, competitive pool and telling a good joke. And always ready to defend his beloved Dallas Cowboys or UNC Tarheels. His deep infectious laugh would fill a room.

Lamont was preceded in death by his father, Fred A. Lloyd III. He is survived by this devoted and loving wife, Jocelyn Y. Lloyd - Greensboro, NC; mother, Jean F. Lloyd - Danville, VA; sister, Lori L. Smith (Terry) - Bowie, MD; Mother-in-Love, Gail Carswell - Savannah, GA; brother-in-law, Zachary Carswell - Savannah, GA; niece, Aaliyah Smith, two nephews, Zachary Ethan
Smith and Davonte Carswell and god-daughter, Devyn Edwards. He is also survived by three aunts, Lillie F. Jennings (Sylvesta) - Danville, VA, Annie Harris and Shirley Lloyd - Wadesboro, NC, two uncles, Leroy Loyd (Rachel) (Guyton, GA) and David Lloyd (Linda) - Morven, NC; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 12pm Destiny Christian Center 2401 Randleman Road Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation 11:30am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery 3910 Forest Lawn Drive Greensboro, North Carolina.
