Obituary For Ivan Williamson, III

To everything there is a season…. Ivan Williamson III, son of loving parents Ivan Williamson Jr and Betty P. Williamson, was born on November 8, 1980 in Guilford County. He departed this life for his journey home to our Heavenly Father on November 22, 2020.

A time to plant, a time to pluck up that which is planted….. Ivan received his formal education in the public schools of Guilford County and graduated from Southern Guilford High School in 1999. He is a member of United Institutional Baptist Church, Greensboro NC. He enjoyed staying in touch and spending time with those closest to him regardless of their location. He was musically inclined and played at least four instruments. His several careers led to becoming self-employed in transportation and logistics. This career path was inevitable because everyone that knew Ivan, knew that his passion was being behind the wheel with his foot on the gas.

A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn…. He leaves an abundance of cherished loving memories to a host of family and friends. The nucleus of his family: his loving parents Betty P. Williamson and Ivan Williamson Jr, both of Greensboro NC; an adopted son, Chance McClain of Winston Salem NC; sisters, Jamelle Williamson of Greensboro NC, Brandi Price-Heathcote of Des Moines IA, and Candace Smith (Everett) of Colorado Springs CO; brothers SSgt Kayron Deshay Smith (Salita) of Ghedi Air Force Base, Italy and Jermaine Watlington (Brianna) of Greensboro NC; his nieces, Desiree Williamson, Leila Smith-Kelley, and Mila Smith; his nephews Everett “EJ” Kelley, Ethan Kelley, Kayron “KJ” Smith, Jaxon Heathcote, Josiah Smith Kaydence Kelley, and Chiro Watlington; Godmothers Dorothy C Herriott of West Field NJ and Stephanie Cherry of Greensboro NC; and a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 6pm-8pm in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Lakeview Memorial Park.
