Margaret M. Golden was born in Durham, North Carolina on March 11, 1954, to Dorothy McClain and Aaron Moore Jr. After her father’s passing, her mother remarried and in Margo’s later teenage years the family relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina. She resided with her mother and stepfather, James McClain, affectionately known as “Mr. Mack.” Margo attended Guilford County Schools and was a proud 1972 graduate of Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC. Post-graduate, Margo pursued her cosmetology career and became a graduate of Leon’s Beauty School, where she received her cosmetology license on November 17, 1981. She started her career as a well-known theatrical make-up artist traveling throughout the United States. Margo was also an affluent nail technician and serviced many upscale nail salons throughout the Greensboro area. After starting a family, she decided to open and operate her homebased salon, “Golden Nails”, until her retirement. Margo was an artiste at heart and showcased her unique style in decorating and interior design, as seen throughout her home filled with authentic oriental décor. Her gift of art was obvious in her culinary skills, sewing, drawings, crafts and much, much more. Margo was united in marriage to Bobby Stevenson Golden (Steve) on August 22, 1981. During this union of 39 loving years, Leah Michelle and Fantasia Nicole were born. Her daughters were her pride and joy; however, her most joyous title was being “Gigi” to her beautiful grandchildren: Jeremiah, Jevon, and Kaiden Lambert and Jakai’ Golden. Margo was also known amongst friends and family for her love of cooking and baking. She always had something freshly made from scratch for all that entered her home and you usually left with a delicious treat or canned good. For years, Margo had been a soldier battling various health matters. On Friday, August 14, 2020 Margo’s Lord and Savior sought fit to give her eternal life and a new kidney. She leaves behind to cherish her memories with contentment and love, her loving husband of 39 years Bobby Stevenson Golden (Steve); daughters - Leah and Fantasia; her grandchildren - Jeremiah, Jevon, Kaiden, and Jakai’, her siblings - Gwendolyn(Russell), Aaron(Jeanette), Jackie(Grant), Vickie, Jimmy(Michelle), and Jeanne. Margo leaves a host of extended family and friends with an immeasurable amount of heartful memories that will always be treasured. “Although her wings were ready our hearts were not.”
The family wishes to thank Margo’s various medical personnel, Brown’s Funeral Home, and all the cards, prayers, visits and extended expressions of love and comfort during this difficult time. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. With heartfelt thanks ~ The Goldens’

In our sudden sorrow our spirits mourn and our flesh grieves loss. But a spirit like my cousin Margo's reigns sweetly in our hearts ad we will always remember the sweet and generous warrior she was then and the triumphant angel she is now. Margo leaves us all filled with her grace and faith in God's care, always. When we say her name and remember her smile may that feeling of loss be replaced with joy for having had her in our lives. Loving and Lifting you all to God's peace and favor. Anita

I came to know the Moore family while studying in Durham. Margo as one of the younger Moore was the cutest and most delightful young person with a giant smile. It was a pleasure to have known her and I am sorry to hear of her untimely death. She will be remembered fondly.
May God's love comfort and keep your mine in perfect peace.
To the Golden family. My heart is heavy with the news of Margo's passing. I have fond memories of her at our family reunion. Then when she married Steve and the two of them would come together...It was lots of fun. Then as the years past the two of you were born and that just added to the numbers in the yard! I will miss her smile and her laugh. Loving you all during this difficult time. Cousins Always....Marcia.
Dear Moore and Golden Families. My heart is hurting over the passing of Cousin Margo. Your family practically mirrors the Scott family. This fact is not lost on us as we pray for healing and comfort for all of you. I love the tribute you paid Margaret in her obituary. I believe she would be pleased. I am so sorry I am not there to share in the service you have planned. I'm sure it will be beautiful.i am sending you love and hugs and praying for your comfort and peace. I love y'all. My Cousin Margo, she once asked what would I do if something 'happened' to her. I did not know that grief would feel like this until reality came, and now I am facing all of our memories, talks, laughs, ups, downs, smiles and tears and much more that are in the past but cannot leave this connection. May God bless all of her friends and her cousins and Siblings; a very blessed anointing to Steve who made things happen, may beautiful Leah and Fantasia find more strength and may God guide all of us where we need to go in Peace as we continue to journey through life. As Always, Lydia
