Dear Durham family, The grandchildren of the late Randolph Durham extend our sincere condolences on the passing of Aunt Pearl. Although I never had the opportunity to physically meet her, I did enjoy talking with her and Uncle Clarence on the phone and receiving correspondence via mail. She was kind, always showed and exemplified loved towards me. While perusing my undergraduate degree, she motivated and pushed me to stay the course. Always explaining the importance of education. She always spoke highly of family and their accomplishments and of her humble beginnings of Rocky Point, Pender, NC.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring soul. her life was truly a testament that God does exist. She defiantly trusted Him with her whole heart. Family, we will continue to pray for you. Remember that God is in control of all of our lives. God will sustain and keep you.
Blessings and Courage, Da'Vaughnta Crenshaw and family
I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Durham passing. She was my 3rd grade teacher in 1989 when my mother Annie Ray Riffey passed. Mrs. Durham comforted me and supported me during a very difficult time and her impact will always be with me.
Soror Pearl Durham was a wonderful lady and a true friend. She will truly be missed.
Dear Durham Family, I am saddened to hear of the passing of your beloved wife, mother, loved one and my fellow Fayetteville State alumna (Bronco}. Years ago, I was active with the Fayetteville State University Triad Greensboro Alumni Chapter, and Pearl was the chapter president. It was easy to see the dedication, love, and pride she had for her alma mater by the way she presided over the business meetings. I, especially, enjoyed partaking in the repast after each meeting, held at her home. Additionally, we (Broncos) attended Christmas socials in her home. Pearl and her husband were always the perfect hosts. May it comfort you to know that others share in your loss and grief at this time. May God's peace guide you always (1 Peter 5:7).

Soror Pearl, Rest in peace.
Mrs. Durham was a very kind neighbor. I remember on my 50th Birthday, she and her husband entertained us with dances that they had learned. It was so special. Gail Williams
