Mrs. Vickie Michelle McCoy was born on December 18, 1958, to Charles Wright, Jr. and the late Geraldine Clinard Wright. Vickie was a proud graduate of Ben L. Smith High School. She went on to build a fulfilling career, working diligently at Lincoln Financial, formerly known as Jefferson-Pilot, as well as Naegele and Stockhausen Inc. Her dedication and strong work ethic were evident in all that she did. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina and frequently attended New Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina In
1990, Vickie married the love of her life, Rodney McCoy, and together they shared a beautiful journey of love and partnership. In 1994, they welcomed their son, Xavier, who brought them endless joy and pride. Xavier was the apple of her eye. Vickie was funny, had a vibrant spirit and a heart full of love. She enjoyed trying new recipes, cooking for her loved ones, reading, shopping, especially on Temu, and listening to her favorite music. Those who knew her will remember her for her endless conversations, sense of humor, and love for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Clinard Wright; her sister, Phyllis Wright; and her brother, Michael Wright. Vickie leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted husband, Rodney McCoy; her loving son, Xavier McCoy; her father, Charles Wright; her siblings, Doris Winnix (Harvey), Charles โTerryโ Wright, and Joyce Casey (Elvis); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Cassie Coote Brown Memorial Chapel at the Perry J. Brown Funeral Home, 909 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. Visitation will be prior at 12:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N. O'Henry Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27405.
