Patricia Holt Miller
4/15/1937 – 10/22/2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother,
Patricia Holt Miller, on 10/22/2023, at the age of 86. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends,
and all who knew her.
Patricia was born in Durham, NC in 1937 to Martin and Rosa Holt. She was friendly and outgoing in her
childhood, which manifested itself during her entire life, she never met a stranger. Patricia attended
elementary and secondary school in Durham, NC before moving to Mt. Vernon, New York where she
graduated from high school. She then attended Central College in Wilberforce, Ohio focusing on the
arts, wherein her creativity flourished. Upon returning to New York she meet her loving husband, Oscar
Kermit Miller. Patricia spent many years employed at North Carolina A&T State University’s Student
Union, where she touched the lives of many students and staff alike. She then moved to Arizona,
wherein she served as manager for her husband’s business, Lonestar Pest Control. Patricia and Kermit
enjoyed their time in Arizona, before returning to North Carolina for their retirement to be close to dear
friends and family.
Over the years, Patricia developed a passion for travel, especially when it included her family whereby
she traveled all over the country. Later in life, she enjoyed sitting on her porch soaking up the sun,
socializing with family, neighbors and friends. Patricia over the years developed a fond appreciation for
nature and would love to take drives throughout the Southeastern and Midwestern parts of the country.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Martin Holt, and mother, Rosa Holt, and is survived by her
husband, Oscar Kermit, son, Kermit, daughter, Patrica, son, Chris (Julie), daughter, Lori, and daughter, Kelli. Patricia is the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren & 1 on the way and 3 great-great grandchildren.
We would also like to thank our angel of grace and mercy, Patricia Miller Bryant (Sissy), daughter, for
her unwavering commitment, dedication, love and caring for our precious mother.

Mrs Miller was always kind to me. She had a delightful spirit and always told it like it was. I appreciated that about her. May God give the family peace and guard your hearts during this time. Andrew O Jones
To the Miller Family, Mrs. Pat Miller was an amazing mother figure to myself and so many others in the woodmere park community, I was fortunate to be a part of her family with (Sissy) receiving mentoring guidance, uplifting support as she sought out to understand your deams and keep up with you for years to come. Mrs Miller you will be forever loved and missed. Angie and I were so thrilled to bring our mom to celebrate her during her 85th birthday. Deepest and sincerest condolences. Donna Staley-Flack
To Kermit and your Beautiful Children. Words cannot express the pain that I have on the loss of Pat. May God bless all of you in a very special way as Pat would want for you all. My love and blessings!😢❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Bettye YoungStewart
I will never forget Mrs. Miller. She was our little league baseball Mom for Guilford Mills. She made sure all of us made it to the games and I couldn't wait to eat her cooking. Condolences to the Miller family from Derrick Johnson and family.
My condolences go out to the family. We had many laughs and great conversations at the family reunions. She will be missed. Jonathan and Zina. NYC
I last spoke with Pat earlier this year. It was if no time had passed and we had the most fun catching up on so many things. The definition of a "Gem" is special or unique and that is Pat. She was always the comfort zone for so many and full of sound advise and words of wisdom, and of course the laughter. Family, take comfort in knowing mom is at peace and though the days, the months, and even the years ahead will be challenging at times, know she is still with each of you in your heart. Cherish the memories. May God comfort each of you. Love
Cousin Linda B. Clyburn
