Mr. Ronald Whidbee, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
Ronald was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late William Whidbee, Sr. and Jean D. Whidbee. He was a Navy Veteran. Ronald received his high school diploma and college degree in the Navy. He worked at Norfolk State University, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and North Carolina A&T State University. He was recently employed by Mrs. Celestine Cheek.
Ronald was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He also loved singing, playing his organ, and guitar.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father: William Whidbee; mother: Jean D. Watts Whidbee; and brothers: David and Reginald Whidbee.
He is survived by his sister: Ann Donnell (Rayshun) of Greensboro, North Carolina; brothers: William Whidbee (Odessa), Earl Whidbee (Mechelle) both of Norfolk, Virginia and Robert Whidbee of Los Angeles, California; longtime companion: Ella Glover; children (Althea) Ketina A. Fleming, Ketrina S. Potts, Ronald A. Fleming, (Iris) Nardo and Lil Ric, (Terry) Ronald H, (Emily) Eric and Elliotte Boddie; 10 grandkids and a hosts of other relatives and friends.
