Obituary For Sharlene Felton
Sharlene M. Felton was born April 3, 1969, in Pasquotank County to James J. Felton Sr. and Hazel O. Felton. Sharlene said I’m going to rest on Thursday January 6, 2022 at her home in Summerfield, NC.
Sharlene started her journey in the restaurant business in 1993 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina working with Taco Bell. She eventually moved into the healthcare industry working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. Sharlene believed in not so demanding work; so, she moved to Greensboro in 1997, where her brother resided, and began working for Liberty Hardware and Amp Incorporated. Sharlene loved to sharpen her skills, so she began driving the Greensboro city transit bus and did so for the remaining loving years of her adventurous life.
Sharlene leaves to honor and cherish her memory her wonderful mother and father, Hazel O. Felton and James J. Felton Sr; her strong son, Derel J. Felton; her precious daughter, Samone J. Felton; her fishing brother, James J. Felton Jr. (Torva); her gracious grandmother, Mary E. Mallory; her four lovely nieces: Essence, Jordyn, Taryn, and Jazmyn; and many, many (yes many, many) aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones, and friends.
A service honoring her life will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday January 14, 2022 in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 12:00 pm.
Internment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Professional services are entrusted to Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.

I met miss Felton a few years back after her son an I became good friends from working together, she was a sweet lady an i always enjoyed talking to her, she had a wonderful personality, and I once told her that she ought to be proud of herself because she done a fine job of raising her two children, she will be greatly missed.
