Mr. Stanley Bryant McAdoo, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 11:30am Union Memorial United Methodist Church 1012 East Gate City Boulevard Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation 11am.
Stanley Bryant McAdoo was born on June 29, 1962, in Greensboro, North Carolina, the middle child of Elwillie Long McAdoo and Walter Hilton McAdoo. After an unexpected illness, he transitioned on January 13, 2025.
Stanley was a lifelong member of Union Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was actively involved in repairs at the church and its properties. He also volunteered at the church’s free breakfast program and loved singing with the combined choir.
He was a graduate of Grimsley Senior High School, Class of 1980, and served in the United States Navy after graduation. Stanley devoted much of his time to caring for elderly and sick individuals, including serving as a caregiver
for Mrs. Mary Robbins until her passing. He also lovingly cared for his mother. Skilled in-home repair, he gladly used his knowledge and abilities to
help others.
Stanley was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillian and Anderson Long and Emma and Hilton McAdoo; his brother, Anthony Long; and his father, Walter McAdoo.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Stanley Bryant McAdoo of Charlotte, North Carolina; his mother, Elwillie McAdoo; his brother, Jerome McAdoo of Pensacola, Florida; his former wife, Tonya McAdoo; four aunts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his best friend, John John.
