Theodore Washington Jr., better known as "Huck," was born September 5, 1968, to Theodore Washington Sr. and Veronica Armstrong.
He graduated from Ben L Smith High School, Class of 1986.
Theodore was a great father and grandfather to his only grandchild, granddaughter Harmonee Estes, who she knew as "Papa Huck." He loved his family and would give you the shirt off his back if it put a smile on your face. He always wanted to make sure everyone was good and had what they needed. Being selfless and kind-hearted, he taught his daughters to always keep family first, saying “all we have is each other." Family was the world to him. Those late night calls to his daughters, Brittani (Princesspooh), Laura (Zolabrite). Ianna (Wilonna). You could feel him smiling through the phone. Parties and cookouts, he enjoyed. He would love a trip to the beach with Alice and tease her because she had never been.
Theo served in the Armed Services (Army) and the National Guard. He loved going to the nursing home and spending time with his aunt Barbara and taking her on field trips to get her nails and feet done. He loved football and was an adamant Pittsburgh Steelers fan alongside his dad. And the game was on when the Steelers played the Cowboys and he could go toe-to-toe with his brother Lawrence. It was on and popping. No sound barrier required. His mother was his heart, dinner buddy. They would often go out to eat. He enjoyed taking her lunch to work and showing up, with a smile that could be seen far off. Her job knew who he was and would say, "I'll go get her. Did you bring us lunch." He would start smiling and laughing.
Theo was predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine Chisolm, Willie Washington, Boyd Campbell, and Annie Laura Campbell.
He leaves precious memories to his wife, Alice Washington; daughters: Brittani Washington of Durham, NC, Laura Estes (Tayshuan) of Martinsville, VA, and Ianna Faulk of Martinsville, VA; stepson: Rasheed Cheek of Greensboro, NC; grandchild: Harmonee Estes of Martinsville, VA; father: Theodore Washington Sr. (Elrita) of Greensboro, NC; mother: Veronica Armstrong (Warren) of Greensboro, NC; brother: Lawrence Campbell of Greensboro, NC; nephew: Elisha Campbell of Greensboro, NC; and best friend: Carlton Hopkins of Greensboro, NC; six aunties: Maryann Lipscomb, Betty Thacker, Annabelle Chisolm, Hannah Griffin, Lisa Hodges, and Barbara Campbell Chavis; and a host of other family and friends.
