Obituary For William Bailey, Jr.

William Edward Bailey, Jr. was born on August 3, 1942, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was the son of William Edward Bailey Sr. and Shirley Hunter Bailey. William was called Bill by most, but some family members knew him as Junior and others by Bo. He graduated from Dudley High School in Greensboro before matriculating at North Carolina A & T University.

William married Pamela Hammond Bailey on July 7th, 1965. From a young age, Bill had a strong work ethic. His long and storied occupational journey began in the eighth grade when he worked as a caddy at a local golf course. In the 11th and 12th grades, Bill worked at UNC-Greensboro in their dining hall. Other occupations included working for The Coca-Cola Company as well as the Pepsi Corporation, and the United Taxi Association. Bill Bailey always set his sights on being an entrepreneur. At the age of twenty-three, Bill fulfilled this childhood dream when he opened his first business, Reliable Janitorial Services. His next venture into the world of business ownership was in 1979, when became the proud owner and operator of Pro Kleen Carpet Cleaners. This carpet cleaning and fire restoration business had a sterling reputation and earned an A+ Better Business Bureau Rating & Accreditation. In business and in life, he combined courtesy and dependability to create genuine relationships that helped his company grow. Pro Kleen Carpet Cleaners had many loyal customers such as Tumblebees Ultimate Gym. Additionally, Bill worked at Pyramids Wellness Center which combined his love of fitness and providing reliable service to others. Later in life, he worked with his younger brother Coy Bailey, another entrepreneur and small business owner.

Bill made many friends throughout his lifetime, touched many lives, and was much loved by family and friends. Bill loved his family, his friends, and his church. Bill was a church elder, as well as a very dedicated and active member of the Greensboro Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 1320 Fleming Road in Greensboro, North Carolina. He reached the age of eighty-one and was cheerful and extremely active until the last few months of his life. He was cared for at Beacon Place in Greensboro until his death on June 9, 2024.

William Bailey Jr. was a source of inspiration to his family and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his younger brother: Ronnie (Marine for Life); his twin brothers: Roy and Coy Bailey; his baby brother: Reginald Bailey; and his baby sister: Jeanette Bailey-Ogunyemi. He was the proud father to four children, his eldest daughter: Janice Franklin; his eldest son: William Bailey, III; his daughter: Jaqueline Bailey; his youngest son: Cedric Parker; his son-in-law: Wilbur Franklin; his daughter-in-law: Diana Parker; his grandchildren: Brittany Bailey, Chloe Bailey, Shania Ross, Kolby Bailey, Eliana Parker, Eden Parker, Nykesha Brown, Cheyne Brown, and TyQinn Brown; his great-grandchildren: Tashe'anna Wall, Tyzhae' McRae-Wall, Ny'Jah Oakley, Da'leighia Wilson, Michael Ryan Brown; his great-great-granddaughter: Reign Forbes; and his former wife: Pamela Bailey.

One of Bill's best gifts was being able to brighten the corner where he was in every situation. His infectious smile, big laugh, and big heart were an example to us all. The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support we have received. Please remember to brighten the corners of the lives of your loved ones, as Bo Bailey did every day.

Funeral will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Greensboro Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 1320 Fleming Road in Greensboro, North Carolina. The visitation will be held prior to the funeral at 2:30 pm.
