Obituary For Yvonne Bristol

Mrs. Yvonne Bristol passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025, 2:00 pm at Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel 909 East Market Street at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home Greensboro, North Carolina. Visitation 1:30 pm.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery 3901 Forest Lawn Drive Greensboro, North Carolina.

Mrs. Yvonne Carol Bristol was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 27, 1959, to Henry and Pauline Bowser Simmons. She departed this life on April 12, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.

She graduated from Manteo High School in 1976, where she participated in several organizations and was featured in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. After high school, she enrolled at North Carolina A&T State University, where she majored in Accounting. It was there that she met Ronnie Bristol. They were united in marriage on February 26, 1989 and affectionately known as “Jack” and “Pie.”

Yvonne worked as a bank teller at Wachovia Bank & Trust Company, and she ended her banking career when her health declined.

Yvonne never met a stranger and loved engaging with people. She was a compassionate helper and a great listener. She was also a talented cook who enjoyed sewing, traveling, playing cards, board games, and completing puzzles. An avid sports fan, she loved watching games on television and attending them in person.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ronnie Bristol; stepdaughter, Angela Jackson (Thomas), and their children, Tre’, Tyree, and Ania all of Newlin, North Carolina; siblings, Eugene, Henry, and Heather Simmons; in-laws; and a host of other family members and friends.
