Alice Marie Manns, 90 of Savannah, GA (formerly of Walnut Cove, NC) passed Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, 402 Short Avenue, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Dry Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 3965 Pine Hall Rd., Walnut Cove, NC.
Today we gather to celebrate the life of an amazing woman, Ms. Alice Marie Manns. She was born to Willie and Bertha Manns on May 9, 1934. She was called home April 29, 2025. Alice dedicated her life to serving God and attended Pine Hall Baptist, Rock Hill Baptist Church, New London Progressive Primitive Church and various other churches in the area. She was a devoted employee and worked diligently at Countryside Manor until her retirement.
Alice was proceeded in death by her parents, Willie and Bertha Manns, as well as her four brothers; Willie Manns, Jr., James Sherman, Terrance Manns, Perry Manns, one sister, Mary E. Manns and a grandson, Terrance Edwards Manns.
Alice was a friend to all she encountered. She was a hard worker and the simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to her. She loved to be outside in nature, particularly while taking care of her dearly loved thirty-five cats. She loved to go fishing and hang out with her friends Caroll and Helen Moore.
She leaves behind to cherish her a loving family: One son; Charles Edward Manns of Savannah, GA, three grandchildren, Michel (Tika) Manns of Savannah, GA, Artina (Raymond) Alvey of Hollywood, Maryland, Charles Lamont Manns of Mooresville, NC, more than twenty great grandchildren, one 2nd great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Alice was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to share in her life.
Charles i am praying God's strength will overtake you durning this challenging time in your life. I am sure your took very good care of your mother, so now is the time to praise God, cause it's not the end. You will meet agin on the other side. Love Ava.
