Obituary For April LaFay Smith

Ms. April LaFay Smith,54, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Eden, died November 12, 2019. Funeral services will be held 3:00p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2019 at St. John United Methodist Church in Eden, NC. Burial will be in Eden Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.

April was born February 17, 1965 to the late Robert Johnson, Sr. and the late Janice H. Brim. On November 12, 2019 a chariot of angels came to take April to her heavenly home where she would forever rest in peace. April was a 1983 graduate of Morehead High School in Eden, NC. She served in the United States Army and was a Chaplain Assistant at Hunter Holmes McGuire Home in Richmond, VA until her recent move to South Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Johnson, Jr., and sister, Janice Johnson. April leaves to cherish her memories: six siblings; Retired CSM Anthony (AnaLyn) of Ewa, Hawaii, Robin, Ronnie (Cynthia), Shirley, Wayne and Wanda Brim of Eden, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lord I had been looking for April She was my girlfriend when we were stationed at ft Riley Kansas and she had come to the hospital because she mixed bleach and ammonia and I treated her. We started dating I remember her coming to my grand parents house in Brooklyn NY. We lost contact I'd been looking for her for years and just put her name In a google search and found her obituary my heart is saddened rest my soldier

Wow,I can't believe you are gone but I know you are walking around in heaven dressed in your finest apparel but this time it is to signify royalty you always had alot of class and you mastered every goal that you sent you were a servant to your family and your country wow what a queen you will be missed by so many I love you and I'm hurting but only because I want see u until I come to your new home so until we meet again goodbye and take care of our family that is already there,our Ancestor's must be rejoicing that you are home and I know that you are strutting around up there in paradise.making everybody laugh well I love you lil cousin Charlie
