Obituary For Armstead Keith Bailey

Armstead Keith Bailey, 61, of Walnut Cove, died May 10, 2021. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Perry- Spencer Funeral Home, Madison. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday May15,2021 at Bailey Family Cemetery.

Mr. Armstead Keith Bailey, who was always known and referred to as "Keith". He departed this life on Monday, May 10, 2021 at his residence in Walnut Cove, NC. Keith was born to the late Harry Lee Bailey and Sally Elizabeth Bailey. on April 20, 1960. He attended the public schools of Stokes County and graduated from South Stokes High School. He attended Surry Community College. He worked at Burlington Industries, Halsted and R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Keith entered the United States Army on April on April 26, 1979 until he retired on November 19, 1982 receiving an honorable discharge. He ranked as a E4. Years after he come out of the Army, he became employed at Mitchell's meat processing where he worked for many years until he transitioned and started doing landscaping work. Keith attended New Beginnings Christian Church in Winston Salem, NC under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Nelson S. McCall. Keith was interested and in training to become an usher. He loved kids, they brightened up his day. He tried teaching them to do outside work and to play sports. Keith played baseball and basketball all through his school years. He was always very determined. He was a strong fearless man. He was always willing to help and in his very own special way he showed each of his family members love and for that at the end of his life, he was at peace with himself and God, now he will be joining his parents and siblings in their heavenly home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Allison Leigh Johnson, Faith Amanda Bailey Kirkland and Harriet Lash Rhodes. He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter; Denise Walter of Germany, sisters; Donna Marie Bailey of Walnut Cove, NC, Lauranne Caldwell (Joe) of Kernersville, NC, brothers; James Lash of the home, Lloyd Bailey of Madison, NC, Terry Lee Bailey (Vickie) of Walnut Cove, NC, brothers-in-law; Jeffrey Johnson of Madison, NC, William Rhodes of Winston Salem, NC, Graylyn Kirkland of Walnut Cove, NC, uncle; Bobby Lash (Gwendolyn) of Walnut Cove, NC, aunt; Mary Webster (John) of Madison, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, special relatives and lifelong friends.
