Ava Woods, 93, of Eden, NC, died April 17, 2021. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Ava was born May 19, 1927 in Eden, North Carolina to the late William and Viola Walker. She departed this life on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home. Ava was the eldest and last living survivor of four siblings. At an early age Ava joined Little Bethlehem Christian Church. She was also a member of the Rural Development Club. She retired from Rockingham Public School where she worked for many years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and taking care of flowers. Ava was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Melissa Martin Walker (Mama Liss), her devoted husband, Percy Woods, brother, Sanford Walker, sisters, Christine Broadnax, Peggy Saxton, Phyllis Martin, Geneva Peterson, grandson, Benson Woods and daughter-in-law, Ramonia Woods.

Ava leaves to cherish her memory: eight children; Jean Parks (Allen) of Amherst, VA, Jacqueline Woods, Byron Woods, Wayne Woods all of Eden, NC, William Woods of Stoneville, NC, Kathy Parker (Anthony), Joyce Woods, Jill McIlwain all of Greensboro, NC, Jennifer Woods of Reidsville, NC, 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
