Deaconess Betty Jo Pass, 86 of Eden, NC passed Monday June 23, 2025. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. β 6:00 p.m. Friday June 27, 2025 at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, 511 Henry Street, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. β 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Bluestone Baptist Church, 9892 NC 700, Pelham, NC. The βCelebration of Lifeβ will begin at 12 Noon with interment following in the church cemetery.
On Monday, June 23, 2025 at her home, God called an angel home to be with him, Deaconess Betty Jo Foye Pass. She was born October 7, 1938 to the late Anderson and Elizabeth Millner Foye.
She attended school in Leaksville at Douglass High School. Betty was married for 63 years to George Richard Pass, Sr and to this union five children was born. She worked in Housekeeping, The Mar Gre Motel and was a member of the local Elks Club. She was a member of Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church of Pelham, NC where she was the musician for all the choir of the church and a member of the Usher Board and Missionary Circle. She enjoyed cooking and most of all playing the piano for any occasion, and loved everyone, whether they were family or friends.
She was also preceded in death by: husband: George Richard Pass, Sr., three brothers; Anderson Foye, Jr., Johnny Foye, Phillip Foye and sister, Virginia Ann Daughtery. Her son, George Richard Pass, Jr., son-in-law, Timothy Scales and granddaughter, Lashenda Alverson.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters; Rev. Dr. Karen Pass-Willis (Louis), Cynthia Pass, Sonja Pass, and Sarah Scales and bonus daughter, Debbie Alverson. Grandchildren: Tameika Cummings, Edward LeGrand Willis (Tiffany), Kanisha Alverson, Gregory Pass (Tracey), Anthony Pass, Charity Alverson, Brandon G. Willis (Nicole), Seirra Pass, Kenya McNebb and Kennedy Scales. Twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.
To my dear friend Karen, we have not seen each other in a long time, I have been where you are and I know the pain. I am praying for you and your family.
