Early Thursday morning on October 10, 2024, God in His perfect wisdom and timing called our dear Carol Dillard Wills home to eternal rest. Born on August 8, 1941 to the late Reverend Jacob Dillard and Elaine Hampton Dillard of Eden, NC.
Carol accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age while attending Rising Star Baptist Church in Eden, NC. Carol was deeply grateful for the opportunities God provided her to touch countless lives through her work, always giving Him the glory for her achievements and influence.
She pursued academic excellence, attending Rockingham Public Schools and graduating from Frederick Douglas High School High School in 1959. Carol continued her education at Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh, NC, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
On August 27, 1966, Carol united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Andy Wills. Their 58 years of marriage were a testament to the beauty of God's covenant of love. By divine providence they were blessed with one son, Kirby Lamont Wills.
Her professional journey began as an Administrative Assistant in the Psychology Department at Virginia State College. She then served the Martinsville, VA community as a Guidance Counselor and Senior Advisor at George Washington Carver High School and later at Magna Vista High School until her retirement.
For over 50 years, Carol was an active and faithful servant of the Lord at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ridgeway, VA where she was a musician of the sanctuary choir and Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Stoneville, NC, where she was a current member. At both churches, she served faithfully in following ministries: Pastor's Aide, Music, Deaconess, Sunday School, Bible Study, Missionary and Education-Scholarship. Carol also served he community in various capacities, especially through her sorority. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Delta Omega Chapter of Martinsville, VA.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Reverend Jacob and Elaine Dillard, her in-laws; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wills, Sr.; her maternal grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. George and Nellie White and her paternal grandmother, Mary Dillard.
Carol loved her family and leaves her cherished legacy of faith and fellowship to her loving husband, Andy Wills, her son; Kirby Wills (Mebane, NC); her sisters; Ramona (Ruben) Martin and Mary Belvin both of Martinsville, VA and Peggy Crumwell of Johnson City, TN; an uncle; James White (Montgomery, AL) and a host of devoted nephews, nieces, cousins, church family members and friends.
Carol's life reminds us that while weeping may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning. We rejoice that she is at peace, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. Her faith has now become sight as she stands in the glorious tight of eternity.

We are sending our condolences to Carol Wills Family. We are so sorry for your loss which is still a shock to many. We remember her from when she was the Guidance Counselor at George Washington Carver High School. She was a great Counselor, a mentor to many and she was very friendly with her infectious smile. I have to mention her neatness and how well she was dressed every time you saw her... simply immaculate from head to toe. She touched many lives and she will be greatly missed.
