Obituary For Cassie Broadnax Hampton

Mrs. Cassie Broadnax Hampton, 92, formerly of Eden,NC died September 27, 2020. Public viewing will be held 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday October 1, 2020 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will have a graveside service 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020.

Cassie was born to the late Matilda and Elijah Broadnax on August 27, 1928. She entered into a peaceful eternal rest on Sunday, September 27, 2020 with her two granddaughters by her side. On November 7, 1950, Cassie was united in marriage to James Andrew Hampton and they were blessed to have one child to their union. Together they would go on to enjoy over sixty years of holy matrimony. Cassie attended Douglass High School in Eden, NC where she graduated in 1946. She then attended cosmetology/beauty school and worked at a local salon for several years before deciding to become a homemaker. Cassie spent her days caring for her husband while managing the home and the family business. She also opened up her home and was a caregiver to her two granddaughters and her older cousin, Lou. Cassie professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 6 siblings; Edward, Luther, Leatrice, Margaret, Dorothy and Odessa, her husband, Andrew and her only child, Denise King.

Cassie is survived by two granddaughters; Tabaitha Keels (Kevin) of Kannapolis, NC, Marlena King (Bobby) of Concord, NC, three great grandchildren; Talib, Genesis and Maya all of Concord, NC and a host of special nieces, nephews that she held dear to her heart.
