Charles “Charlie Pete” Hairston, 53 of Eden, NC passed Monday February 17, 2025. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, 511 Henry Street, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Perry- Spencer Funeral Home Chapel, Eden, NC. with the service 1:00 p.m.
Charles Wayne Hairston, known to his family and friends as “Charlie Pete.” He was born to the late Hassel Hairston and Edna Hairston on June 11, 1971. He graduated from Morehead High School, Eden, NC.
Charles was employed at Gidan Company for many years. He was a loving father, who loved playing basketball with his boys. He was a great brother and loyal son who worked hard to provide for his family.
“Charlie Pete” was a man of few words but was always there when you needed him to be. The love he had for his family was one of a kind. He was a great basketball player as well as a spade partner and a great friend to all who knew him. His favorite teams were the LA Lakers and North Carolina Tar Heels.
He was also preceded in death by sisters; Tina Hairston, Heather Hairston, mother to his children; Loliato Galloway.
Charles leaves behind: His children; Shemar Hairston (Angelina) of Reidsville, NC and Dayshawn Hairston of Graham, NC. His mother; Edna Hairston of Graham, Two grandchildren; Zarielle Hairston and Zar’Leigha Hairston both of Reidsville, NC. Sisters; Thelma Hairston of Graham, NC, Kristen Holland of Greensboro, NC, two brothers; William Hairston, Jason Hairston both of Greensboro, NC. Charles will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
