Mr. Charles Terry, 78, of Axton, VA, died October, 23, 2023. Public viewing will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023 at Perry Spencer Home Chapel, Eden, NC with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Terry Family Cemetery, Mars Drive, Axton, VA.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Charles David Terry of Axton, Virginia. Charles Terry was called home Monday night, October 23, 2023 at seventy-eight years old. He was born October 30, 1944 to the late Charlie Allen Terry and late Dorothy A. Nelson Montague in Dayton, Ohio, but was raised in Axton, VA.

Charles graduated from G. W. High School. He made a career out of brick laying, working for L. E. Jones Masonry Construction Company for many years. He loved fishing and hunting, but his passion was music. He was a talented musician, playing the bass and guitar. He made an album with Sonny Hood and The Kings of Melody and played with Tenenears and the Perkins Brothers.

Charles siblings; Delories West and Al Leta Noakes from Baltimore, MD, Barbara Saunders, Roger Terry (Cathy), Marion McDaniel, Kevon Terry and Jim Terry.

Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents; William H. Terry and Hattie M. Terry, 3 brothers; Jessie Clark, Clarence Terry (Teresa), sister-in-law; Gyrlie Terry along with 3 children; David Terry, Shuwnette Terry and Karen Glover and his former wife; Florence Holland.

He leaves to cherish his memories: children; Charlotte H. Williams and David Jr. Terry (Tamara), Timothy Terry, Selina King, Cassandra Terry, Carmen Shepherd (Wendell), Nakeda Bush, Toria Bush Gillis (Fredrick); brother; Carnaathus Terry, sister; Deloris Giles and a host of other family and friends.

Charles Terry touched a lot of lives and will be greatly missed.
