Christopher H. Hairston, 75 of Walnut- Cove, NC passed Sunday, October 26, 2025. Family visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Withers Chapel Church 2793 Pine Hall Rd, Walnut Cove, NC. with the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home 402 Short Avenue, Madison, NC. The family will be available from 6:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.
Mr. Christopher (Chris) Harris Hairston was born May 28, 1950 to the late John Harris and Lena Joyce Hairston.
Chris was a lifelong resident of Stokes County where he helped on the family farm, attended Withers Chapel United Methodist Church and graduated from London High School. He later went on to attend North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. Chris was employed and retired from Tyco Electronics in Greensboro, NC.
Chris passed away on October 26, 2025, at Jacob Creek Nursing Facility. Chris was preceded in death by two sisters: Trevor Hairston and Gwendolyn Hairston; three brothers: Sterling Hairston, Cary Hairston and Lafayette Hairston.
Chris was an enthusiastic traveler who loved exploring new places and meeting new people; he never met a stranger. When not on the road, Chris cherished time spent with family reminiscing and creating lasting memories together. We will miss his laughter and the way he told stories of old.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife of 43 year, Charlotte Hairston; three children; Denee' (Chris) Brooks, Malcolm (Christi) Hairston and MeFonda (Michael), Warren; seven grandchildren: Brittney (Daron) Lowery, Malcolm Hairston, Jr., Christopher Brooks, Jasmine Hairston, Gregory (Jasmine) Brooks and Christopher Michael Warren and Terrell Davis; two great-grandchildren; Elijah Lowery and Riann Brooks; one sister; Jacqueline Hairston; four sisters-in-law: Sandra Hairston, Belva (Sherman) Watkins, Helen Hairston an d Sharon Hairston. Four brothers-in-law: William Murrell, Keith (Dawanna) Murrell, John Smith and Roy Hairston; a dear friend, coach and mentor, Arnold Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
I will always remember Chris saying these words..."Coach, I can do it!" And he did! Chris was a good guy and will be greatly missed by many.

                Chris will truly be missed, he was family to me. To "Pinky", I am so sorry for your loss, he was a good man and I know he loved you so very much. Please take comfort in knowing that God has welcomed him home with open arms. All my love to you and the family.
