Clyde Price, Sr, 80 of Belews Creek, NC passed Monday, September 8, 2025. Graveside service will be at 12 Noon, Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 4873 Pine Hall Road, Walnut Cove, NC. The family will be receiving friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to the start of the Graveside service.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday September 12, 2025, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home 402 Short Avenue, Madison, NC.
Mr. Clyde “Have Mercy” Price, Sr., 80, made his grand arrival here on earth on September 19, 1944 to the late Robert Price and Annie Mitchell, from the beginning. Clyde was a fighter, as he served in the US Army from 1965 - 1971. During his time in the Army, Clyde received the following honors: Marksman (rifle), National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star. Shortly after his discharge from the Army, Clyde met his wife, Christine and they have been married for 51 years.
Before his rapid decline in health, Clyde was a faithful member of Rock Hill Baptist Church where he served in several committees. His most memorable times would be during the male chorus anniversary and Christmas programs and his singing would shake the walls and floor with his deep soulful voice! His humor, love and dedication will forever live on.
Clyde is proceeded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; Howard Price, Robert June Price and Clifton Price and one sister; Dorothy Mae Patterson.
Clyde leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Christine Welch Price, daughter Angale Price and son Clyde Price, Jr.; all of the4 home and one daughter, Angela Price of Winston Salem. He has one sister, Mary Jane Price. Grandchildren are Alexis Thomas (Ealem Sturdivant and Anna Louise Johnson. Last year, Clyde received a new title of Great-Grandpa. His partner in crime, his Sweetums and his “sausage”; Sage Magnolia Sturdivant. Clyde also leaves behind his best friend/cousin and fishing buddy, Willie Mitchell and his “adopted” son, Alvin “Big Al” Satterfield. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and his Trellis Supportive Care Hospice Team.
