Daisy Galloway McCollum, 83 of Reidsville, NC passed Sunday, April 26, 2026. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 2, 2026, 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 179 Jones Chapel Rd., Reidsville, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC, 402 Short Ave., Madison, NC on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Daisy Galloway McCollum was born in Rockingham County to the late James and Sarah Broadnax Galloway on February 7, 1943. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love, on April 26, 2026.
Daisy was a graduate of Charles Drew High School, Madison, NC, Class of 1962. She was employed with the Rockingham County School System as a custodian for many years. She joined Jones Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She was affiliated with various organizations of the church, including Pastors Aide Ministries, Deacon and trustees’ wives board, gospel choir and other activities.
She found her greatest happiness in the kitchen, where she lovingly prepared meals and brought people together through food. Her heart was rooted in her love for the Lord, which guided her life and the way she cared for others.
Daisy was also preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Charlene W. McCollum and loving siblings; Posey Woods, Lillie Brim, Alberta Broadnax, Kate Carter, Gladys Dillard, Annie Bell G. Ellington, Roy Galloway, George Galloway, and James Galloway. Daisy was the youngest and the last surviving member of the late James and Sarah Broadnax Galloway family. She is now reunited with her nine siblings.
Daisy leaves to cherish her memory: loving husband; Charles W. McCollum, Grandson, Hurley Brown III (Mandy) of Reidsville, Great-grandchildren; Damon Williams, Mariana Faint, Hurley Brown IV, and Dallas Brown, Sister-in-law; Diane McCollum Galloway (John) and numerous other nephews and nieces, as well as a multitude of friends and other relatives.
She was surrounded by a strong support system that included God daughters; Shelia Fountain, Laura Blackstock and special friends; Brenda Adam's, Bessie Grissom, Tammy Jeffries and Romona Martin.

Charles, Hurley, Elmer, Michael and family - I am so heart broken over the loss of such precious soul. I fell in love with Daisy the first time we met! We shared many conversations, lots of laughs and lots of created lots of memories! I always enjoyed are ladies night out for a meal and coffee! We shared so many good times together. I considered her such a great friend that became like family after she became a caretaker for family members. I am going to miss her so much!!! Thankful for the season in life I shared with her and her sister!!! Rest easy my friend!!! Love ya always!!! ❤️
