Deacon Rachel Tanks, 78 of Martinsville, VA. passed June 2, 2026. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 12:30 pm 1:00 pm at Mt. Olive East Christian Church, 3611 Spencer Preston Rd. Martinsville, VA 24112. The โCelebration of Lifeโ will begin at 1:00 p.m. with interment following at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Drive, Martinsville, VA.
Public visitation will be held from 2:00 p,m, โ 5:00 p,m, Tuesday June 9, 2026, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, 402 Short Avenue, Madison, NC.

So sorry to hear of Rachel's passing. She was my first cousin. May she rest in peace.

Our sincerest condolences to the family. Rachel was in every sense of the word our sister. We were members of the Disciple Women's Ministry together for many years. We met 2 times a month to share feelings, exchange views, laugh together, pray and sometimes cry together, and share hugs. Rachel was also our zoom Sunday school teacher. Words cannot express how much we loved and adored her. God has truly gained an angel.
