Obituary For Doris Galloway Lowe

Doris Galloway Lowe, 87, Reidsville, NC passed Thursday, December 22, 2022. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Reidsville, NC with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Doris Ann Galloway Lowe gained her wings on Thursday, December 22, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born on June 29, 1935 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She was the offspring of the late Dillard C. Galloway and Hattie Jumper Galloway. She attended the public school and met and married Wiley C. Lowe Jr. who preceded her in death. To this union was born five children.

Doris was a retiree of Karastan Rug Mill. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she served as a Communion Steward, a member of the United Methodist Women, and the Kitchen Committee until her health declined. She enjoyed cooking, not just for family, but for friends and shut-ins.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, her parents, a son, Dennis Lowe along with her brothers, Alfred L. Galloway, John A. Galloway and sister in law, Catherine Galloway.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Wiley E. Lowe (Sammie), daughters; Marva Moore (Rev. Samuel), Jackie Jones (Harold) and Yvette Whitsett (Carl), grandchildren; Shan Hensley (Jamie), Teecha Knight (Donald), Felease Witcher (Nathaniel), Chandra Siddle, Madonna Pemberton (Chris), Jamii Siddle (Jessica), Samuel A. Moore (Heather), Curtis Bradley (Jenn), Jasmine Whitsett, Myesha Whitsett, Katie Leggett (Devin), Carl Whitsett II (Katherine) and Cierra Whitsett; 24 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; aunt, Iola Holt, sisters in law, Estella Stokes, Theressa Watkins, brother in law James Lowe and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
