Obituary For Dorothy "Squeaky" Jean Martin - Hampton

Dorothy Jean Hampton, 72, formerly of Stokesdale, NC passed Friday, March 21, 2025. Publice viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC with the Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Dorothy Jean Hampton was born to the late W. C. Martin and Dorothy Dalton Martin in Stoneville, NC on August 7, 1952. She attended Stoneville, NC school.

Dorothy was employed by the former Washington Mills Textile Company, Yates Construction Company and finally Unifi Textile Company, all of which were within the Madison, NC area.

Sister Dorothy Jean Hampton, affectionately known as “Squeaky” passed on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Eden, NC after a period of extended illness. She was provided with the invaluable care of Hospice Palliative Care of Greensboro, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fiancé, Henry M. Mitchell.

Sister Dorothy had a great appreciation for life. Dorothy dedicated her life to Christ in September 1999. Her favorite foods were fried chicken, turnip greens and her sodas.

The unspeakable joy that awaits her in heaven is the hope and promise of those who look forward to a reunion with her in eternity. Survivors include her devoted son; Sam Hampton, brother; William J. Martin and aunt, Clara Dalton. Along with many extended family members and friends.
