Frederick Hairston Jr., 66, of Eden, NC died December 3, 2020. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 P.M. TO 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 10, 2020 at Perry- Spencer Funeral Home, Eden. The family will have a private funeral service. Burial will be at Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC.

God saw fit to call his son, Frederick Hairston Jr., age 66, home on Thursday, December 3, 2020 unexpectedly at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC. He was born on January 25, 1954 in Eden, NC to the late Rev. Frederick Hairston, Sr. and Fannie Tinsley Hairston. He was a devoted and loving father of two daughters, Auntina Hairston (Bishop Michael J. Hairston, Sr.) and Janine Hairston. He leaves to cherish: 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Lois Hairston Simpson, Elnora Dillard (Carl), Sherry Hairston and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by is brother, Victor Williams. Frederick, better known as Ricky or Ricky Shake, was a sweet, quiet and extremely loving giant of a man. Hairston was an awesome dancer, gifted artist and love muscle cars. He was known for his Chevelle Impala-white with red interior. He always kept them clean. He was a man of very few words, very quiet and shy, but he loved everybody and everyone loved him. No one could resist his sweet spirit, compassionate heart and his beautiful hazel gray eyes. Ricky grew up in Eden, NC, attended Rockingham County Schools. He earned his G.E.D. and was a Veteran of the US Army. He was employed by Albaad USA, Reidsville, NC and was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church, Eden, NC under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Taylor. He served as an usher and loved to serve and worship the Lord.
