Fredrick Leon Dalton, affectionately known to family and friends as “Doug”, “Douggie Fresh" was born January 17, 1948, in Martinsville, VA to the late Ethel Moore Dalton and the late Richard Junior Dalton. He later moved to Stoneville, NC where he lived with his grandparents, the late Willie Moore and Cornelia Moore.
“Doug” attended Stoneville School and the former Charles Drew High School, Madison, NC. During his time at Charles Drew High, he met the love of his life, the former Marilyn Davis, whom he was married to for 48 years. He worked at Macfield Inc a number of years, then went on to work at Tultex, where he retired. After retirement, he started working at McDonald’s Restaurant until his health became challenging for him. He was a hardworker and always found a way to make extra money to provide. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Madison, NC under the leadership of Rev. Ervin Best.
“Douggie Fresh” never met a stranger and always wore a million-dollar smile and would help you out in any way he could. He was a true fan of NASCAR racing and a faithful fan of UNC Tarheels basketball. He lived a good life for he did everything he chose to do. Now he can finally take his eternal rest with no more pain and suffering.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his former wife; Marilyn Davis Dalton, his children; Dawnyll “Dawn” Dalton, Christopher Dalton (Angela), Eric Dalton, grandchildren; Kierston, Keyana Dalton, Deja Dalton, Trajan Dalton, Michael Penn, Devante Broadnax, Natahj Dalton, great grandchild; Jaxon Dalton.
