Glenda Martin Simmons, 64 of Madison, NC passed Monday, May 27, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Holiness Church, Madison, NC.

Glenda Mae Martin Simmons, 64 of Madison, NC was born September 16, 1959 in Rockingham County to Leroy Martin and Effie Mae Parker Martin. She departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.

Glenda attended Madison-Mayodan High School, Madison, NC. She worked at the former Tultex in Mayodan, NC for 18 years. After their closing she worked at Countryside Nursing Home, Stokesdale, NC and McDonald’s of Madison. Glenda loved to fish, dance, get lottery tickets, the Carolina Panthers Football and her RED LIPSTICK. She was a caring and giving person that never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Leroy Martin, Jr. and sister, Lesa Martin and her dear friend, Karen Galloway, “Her Fishing Partner”.

She leaves to mourn: her parents; Leroy and Effie Martin of Madison, NC, her children; James Simmons and Gayra Simmons both of Madison, NC. Siblings; Valarie Rene Martin of Madison, NC, Terry Martin (Pam) of Greensboro, NC, Cobie Broadnax of Madison, NC. Grandchildren; Dimantae Cummings and Diyahnah Harvey, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. One special friend; Kenny Parrish.
