Mrs. Gloria “Deanie” Jean Hamlin,81, of Stoneville, NC died Friday, February 21, 2020. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Burning Bush Holiness Church in Stoneville, NC. The family will receive friends form 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Stoneville Cemetery.

Gloria “Deanie”, 81, was called to rest from her labor on Friday, February 21, 2020 at home. She was born October 24, 1938 in Beckley, West VA to the late Levi and Gracie Spencer Hayes. After moving to Stoneville, NC at an early age she became a domestic worker, then transitioned into employment at Stoneville Furniture Factory and later Fieldcrest Mills. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Louis Hamlin, Sr., six sisters; Henrietta Hamlin, Jenny Austin, Jessie Greene, Shirley Brim, Edgenorial Dalton, Faye Hayes, four brothers; Jim, George, Paul and Johnny Hayes and one grandson, Justin Hamlin (Cristina). She leaves to cherish fond memories: three children; Ronnie Hamlin (Patricia), Joseph Hamlin, Jr. (Traci) of the home, Luvonnie Blackwell (Junius) of Walkertown, NC, two brothers; Rufus Hayes (Shirley) of Sandy Ridge, NC, Glenny Hayes (Cynthia) of Eden, NC, nine grandchildren; Joyce Hairston, Greensboro, NC, Katrina Twitty (Darryl), D’Bravius Blackwell (Amber) (Winston Salem, NC, Jason Hamlin (New York, NY), Kienna McGee (Milton) (Maysville, NC), Shaunta Hamlin (Eden, NC), Justin Morphies (Mayodan, NC), Zarion and Brazion Blackwell (Walkertown, NC), eleven great-grandchildren; Eleisha Everett (Christopher) (Charlotte, NC), Kaela Smith (Greensboro, NC), Darryl Twitty, Jr. (Winston Salem, NC), Khloe, Destiny, Malia, Jazmyn and Briana Hamlin (Eden, NC), Kayson, Miliea and Knox McGee (Maysville, NC. Great-great grandchild; Christopher Everett, III (Charlotte, NC), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, her adopted children, Steve and Pat.
