Obituary For Gwendolyn Hylton Lash

Gwendolyn Hylton Lash, 72 of Walnut Cove, NC passed July 7, 2026. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026 at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 4873 Pine Hall Road, Belews Creek, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, 402 Short Ave., Madison, NC 27025.

Gwendolyn Scales Lash, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 28, 1953, to the late Aubrey and Annie Scales.

Gwendolyn was a woman of remarkable strength, grace and unwavering faith. She loved praising the Lord and giving His thanks in al circumstances, living a life that reflected His light. For many years, she dedicated her time and heart to the Stokes County school system, where she warmly impacted the lives of countless children. At home, her kitchen wa the center of family life. Gwendolyn had a profound love for cooking and baking and her delicious meals were just one of the many ways she expressed her deep love for her family and community.

She is survived by her devoted grandaughter/primary caregiver, Aubrianna Lash of the home, who lovingly and dedicatedly took care of her every day. Her legacy also lives on through her grandsons, Bobby Lash, II and Hairston Lash, both of Kernersville, NC, her granddaughters, Quyliah and LaShon Martin both of Pine Hall, NC and her great-grandson, Alijjah Lash of the home.

She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Adriane Mcfadden-Lash (late Bobby Lash, Jr.) of Kernersville, NC, her daugher, Sandra Lash-Martin (Quincy) of Pine Hall, NC, three brothers; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gwendolyn was reuited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Bobby Lash, Sr., her tow dear adult children, Bobby Lash, Jr. and Karen Lash Roberts; and her parents, Aubrey and Annie Scales, who all preceded her in death. Also preceded in death; one brother and two sisters.
