Ecclesiasticus 1:14 --- To fear Yahuah is the beginning of wisdom and it was created with the faithful in the womb.

Mother Helen E. Armour was born in 1930 and was the sixth of nine children born into the family of Deacon Arch and Mother Beulah McLeod. A total of seven boys and two girls; Grady, John Walter, Chester, James, Arch Junior, Helen, Willie, Joseph, and Shirley. Mother Armour would often speak of the love, life, and times she experience growing up on the farm with her parents, brothers and her baby sister.

Proverbs 22:6 — Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Mother Helen E. Armour grew up in the fear and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ. At the tender age of eight years old, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior where she was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina. Mother graduated high school and through the sponsorship from Oak Ridge Baptist Church and her parents, she attended Shaw University in Raleigh North Carolina. She graduated in 1952 Cum Laude with a degree in Nutrition. It was here at Shaw University where she was found by her husband, Thomas L. Armour from Matawan New Jersey. They were married also in 1952 in Oak Ridge, North Carolina.

Proverbs 31:12 ---She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Of their union, seven children were born. To Thomas and Helen’s grief, Gloria, Reini, and Patricia perished at birth and shortly thereafter.

Psalm 30:11-12 ---You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent".

Joy returned to Thomas and Helen with the blessings of four children - Robin, Thomas, Mark, and Clayton.

Proverbs 31:23 ---- Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.

Mother Helen E. Armour was a help meet to her husband, ordered by the Lord and through her obedience, love, and support, Thomas and Helen acquired their first intermediate healthcare facility, Witmer House in Long Branch New Jersey. They expanded with Albern Boarding Home, Todd A Boarding Facility, and finally the grand multi-million dollar. Cliffside Healthcare Facility in Cliffside,NJ. They were truly a power couple, blessed of The Lord.

Ecclesiasticus 26 :2 ----- A virtuous woman rejoices her husband, and she shall fulfill the years of his life in peace.

To Mother Helen’s grief, the love of her life, Thomas Levi Armour, departed this life on January 13, 2022, forever staying in our hearts and minds.

Proverbs 31:26 ---She opened her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Mother Helen E. Armour was a member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Long Branch, New Jersey, under the leadership of Pastor Choyce Schwartz and First Lady Helen D Schwartz. Mother Armour and Lady Schwartz were not only sisters in Christ, they shared a rich friendship in sisterhood. Many can recall memories of them praising God, singing and laughing together - bringing so much encouragement and joy to so many. Mother Armour went on to succeed Mother Ethel Otey as the Church Mother of Holy Temple. Mother Armour was also a member of Mount Olive, Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Martin L Johnson. She also served on the mothers board and was an inspiration to all. Mother Armour was a humble heart, poised with grace, with a sound mind, and a quiet spirit. Through her many experiences in life, she greatly encouraged young women. By her lifestyle, she was an example to all of living for the Lord. In 1999, Mother Armour relocated to Rockingham County, North Carolina, where she joined Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church, under the leadership of Bishop Preston - her final church home family. Mother Armour was an active member of the Motherboard and enjoyed singing in the adult choir for as long as she could. Mother Armour looked forward to this day, “where everyday will be Sunday and Sabbath will have no end”. Whether in prayer,or song, or conversation, she always talked about meeting her Lord and Savior face-to-face. One of her frequent expressions was, “I don’t want anything to get between my soul and my Savior“. Mother Helen E. Armour lived a long and beautiful life. How do we sum up this Beautiful Life? “May the work I’ve done, speak for me.”

2 Timothy 4: 7-8 ---"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day."
