Obituary For Ida Elizabeth Dalton
Ida Elizabeth Dalton, 87 of Walnut Cove, NC passed Monday, July 10, 2023. Public visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends, Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Dry Hollow Family Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the Cemetery, 2255 MLK Drive, Walnut Cove, NC.
Ida Elizabeth Welch Dalton, age 87, the eighth of eleven children, was born on June 8, 1936, in Walnut Cove, Stokes County, North Carolina to Ernest Welch and Eva Hairston Welch. She received her wings and went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale where she was greeted by her parents, her husband the late Curtis Dalton and two sons, Raymond and Theodore along with her siblings, Ernest, Gray, Philip, John (Dick), Elk, and Joe Lester Welch, Willie Beatrice (Boots) Welch Gibson, Mary Mitchell, and Nancy Jones.
Ida grew up in Stokes County and was educated at London School. A dedicated wife, devoted mother and homemaker that enjoyed cooking and canning vegetables. She enjoyed watching the “stories” while maintaining the home and always celebrated her children’s birthday with the best homemade chocolate cake.
Ida leaves behind her 10 children and spouses: Charles Welch (Marvena), Susan Welch Allen (Shawn), Lucy Dalton Barnes (Calvin), Tony Dalton, Timothy Dalton (Jessica), Jessie Dalton Roberts, Rebecca Blue, Janet Dalton (Glenn), John Dalton, Donna Dalton. Siblings: Barbara Ann Welch Tyner along with 40 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild in addition to beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
